At The Maybach Foundation—our company’s philanthropic arm—we believe that thriving communities can change the world. That’s why our Foundation has been investing in social impact since the inception of the Group, focusing on supporting the essential elements of a sustainable food system—helping to alleviate hunger, manage water and waste responsibly and support women to drive economic growth and food security.
Our Foundation is a key driver of progress against The Maybach sustainability agenda which aims build a more sustainable food system. Through strategic partnerships and programs globally, our Foundation seeks to tackle the long-term challenges facing the global food system and do the most good for the most people. We strive for tangible impact in the places where we live and work—collaborating with industry peers, local and international organizations and our employees to affect large-scale change in the spaces that matter to us and on issues of global importance.
Nutrition is part of the foundation of a more sustainable food system. With proper nourishment, communities flourish: children are better educated, economies grow, communities thrive and people live healthier, better lives.
Around the world, 135 million people experience acute food insecurity, a number that the World Food Programme estimates could double to 265 million by the end of 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.
Additionally, pandemic-related school closures have left 1.71 billion children globally out of school at their peak, which is exacerbating food insecurity for students and families who rely on schools as a vital source of nutrition.
Collaborating with non-profits, local partners, and industry allies, we are helping address pervasive hunger by delivering meals, helping food banks strengthen their operations, providing logistical support and technical expertise in the nutrition field and supporting long-term food security.
In response to hunger challenges exacerbated by COVID-19, we are working with many partners, to distribute several million nutritious meals to at-risk populations, among other vital support and resources.
